Personality: Rand is the kind of person that genuinely appreciates the simple things in life, especially after abandoning the Angel Council. He takes each day as it comes and does not ask much of life or people, choosing to be completely self-reliant. Rand has an independent nature but will not shun help or friendship. Although not overly friendly or even shy, Rand is very personable, possessive and extremely empathic. When he has made a friend they are his forever.

Info: Rand’s parents were two very middle-classed Angels. At a very young age he was apprenticed to an Archangel in order to feign nobility and to possibly give him a chance to show his skill. Rand displayed an exceptional talent in remedial affairs due to his cool head and calm demeanor. After much training and a long apprenticeship with the Archangel, the High Council enlisted him as a “peacekeeper”, when in fact they put him to use as a highly persuasive speaker that actually talked enemies and rebels out of their goals and intentions.
Rand visited his parents often, and after many, many, many years, they informed him that they were to have another child. Instead of being overwhelmed with joy, Rand was swallowed by fear. The more involved he became with the Council, the more conniving his missions had become. No longer was he talking down would-be runaways, but forcing people to change their opinions of the Council itself with just his words. In the beginning, Rand had told his parents happy stories of ending battles and saving lives. He didn’t know that just by telling them menial information he had put them in danger.
Rand apologized to his parents that day and did not return for a long time. The Council continued to use him for their benefit and he continued to let them. Eventually drained by missions and regret, he abandoned the Council and returned to his family.
Someone unimportant informed him that his parents were dead; an ‘accident’. His young brother was long gone.
